I recently found myself excised—yet again—by an article in The Free Press, in which the author rightly, I believe, takes issue with the belated classification by self-appointed guardians of linguistic inoffensiveness, i.e., the word police, of the term ‘tranny’ as necessarily pejorative, despite its long history of accepted usage within the LGBTQ, Etc., community, often as a term of familiarity.
